A pure value fund with excess returns over time driven by stock selection
Guided by the philosophy that "value can be found in every sector"
Applies a flexible and multi-faceted approach to determining intrinsic value
Managed by a veteran team with a combined investment experience of more than 70 years
Backed by renowned Loomis Sayles research
May be suitable for investors seeking a core large-cap value holding in a diversified portfolio
Fund Objective:
Seeks long-term growth of capital and income
Investment Strategy:
Following a bottom-up, fundamental process, the fund managers invest in companies that they believe are selling at a significant discount to intrinsic value.
The managers look across all sectors for companies that are undervalued by the market in relation to earnings, dividends, assets, and growth prospects.
Security selection is the prime driver of return.
Risks:
Value investing can fall out of favor with investors and may underperform growth stocks during certain market conditions.
Because the fund can invest a significant percentage of assets in foreign securities, the value of the fund shares can be adversely affected by changes in currency exchange rates, political, and economic developments. In emerging markets these risks can be significant.
The fund is subject to currency risk, which is the risk that fluctuations in exchange rates between the U.S. dollar and foreign currencies may cause the value of a fund’s investments to decline. Funds that invest in securities denominated in, or receive revenues in, foreign currency are subject to currency risk.
